KONTEXT - Institute for Climate Issues

There's a lot of talk about the climate crisis. But not enough is being done. Political frameworks are lacking, the transformation of the economy is happening too slowly, and polarisation is on the rise. As an independent voice in the Austrian climate debate, the KONTEXT - Institut für Klimafragen has been doing everything it can to change that since early 2024.

Netzwerk Klimajournalismus Österreich

Reporting on the climate crisis as the defining existential crisis of our time poses enormous challenges for journalists. Meeting these challenges requires exchange, fundamental and interdisciplinary expertise, and the right competencies within editorial teams. The goal of Netzwerk Klimajournalismus, a cross-media initiative, is to connect journalists and media professionals working on climate reporting and to keep them informed about the latest developments in the field. This happens through the monthly newsletter, press briefings, the 5vor12 Klima-Briefing, as well as informal meetups and the summer school.

For students, this means a consistently comfortable living environment, without having to think too much about it.
