Green Tech Jam Round-Up

Brilliant ideas – professional implementation and presentation of solutions – enthusiastic participants and challenge sponsors!

A total of 36 participants took part in this year's online Climathon Graz, which was held as part of the Green Tech Jam.

8 teams competed for a total prize fund of €5,000 up for grabs at the Green Tech Jam. It was a fantastic event with enthusiastic participants. International students from Germany and France also took part in the competition. All teams delivered great ideas, prototypes and tools for a total of 6 challenges across the areas of Green Tech and Climate Action.

Thanks to the support of TU Graz, the event was able to be held in Gather.Town. Everyone was thrilled by the experience of being able to talk directly to other participants via their avatars and move freely around the space. This made the event a fun, social and interactive experience despite being held digitally.

The winning team "sixpack" solved the Montanuniversität Leoben challenge and took first place in the competition for their solution to the challenge "Circular economy meets distributed ledger – A transparent PET bottle product cycle". Team sixpack consists of an interdisciplinary team of 6 students from MUL and TUG.

2nd place went to team "Knew Generation", which delivered the best solution to the AI.Engineer challenge. The team consists of 4 students in total from TU Graz, Uni Graz and TU Berlin.

3rd place went to the "Komptech Boys", who best solved the Komptech challenge, made up of 6 students from TU Graz, MUL and IFP School Paris (France).

Diversity wins!

All 3 winning teams were interdisciplinary in their composition, and several teams had international students on board (including from Munich, Berlin and Paris). Female students also participated in a number of teams. The winning team Six pack also included 2 women, and an all-female team took part in the competition as well.
