Climate & School

Clim@venture – Climate Education Interactive & Digital

The Erasmus+ project Clim@venture provides a free, modular education programme on climate protection, sustainability and green jobs. The content is digital, interactive and openly accessible. In addition, workshops for a fee are on offer: teachers can be introduced to the programme through train-the-trainer formats, or individual modules can be delivered directly with pupils at school – for example as part of project days or in-depth teaching units.

makingAchange

makingAchange is a cooperative project between science and schools. CCCA – Climate Change Center Austria, together with the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, invites all secondary schools to take part in the project on the topic of "climate change and sustainability" in Austria.

Climate Education for Schools

Students and graduates have set themselves the goal of closing this knowledge gap and strengthening the understanding of the climate system and climate policy from both a natural and social science perspective, as well as raising awareness of our planet and our future. In the Climate Education for Schools project, supported by professors from a wide range of disciplines, they deliver talks and workshops at schools for pupils from lower to upper secondary level across all school types.

Change the Story

In the project "Change the Story", a research team from the University of Graz (contact: Kathrin Marie Otrel-Cass, Institute for Educational Professionalisation) is exploring how and in what ways the topics of the climate crisis and climate change are addressed in schools in the context of digital storytelling.

Teaching Materials

There are already a number of teaching materials relating to the climate crisis. In order to bring the quality of these materials onto a scientific footing, CCCA has launched a project to review teaching materials, with the aim of supporting educational institutions in fulfilling their educational mandate on the topic of "climate change".
