KlimaKonkret - Tackling the Consequences of Climate Change Together

Did you know that Austria is particularly affected by climate change? While global temperatures have risen by an average of 0.5 °C since the 1970s, temperatures here have increased by around 1.5 °C over the same period.

The impacts are noticeable for everyone. But the consequences of climate change aren't just a matter of comfort — they also manifest in ecological, economic, and social challenges.

To get a handle on human-caused climate change, two strategies need to be pursued simultaneously:

  1. Climate protection measures to limit the rise in temperature

  2. Climate change adaptation measures to safeguard quality of life — despite the already tangible consequences of climate change

Only the combination of these measures will be effective. Because even if we step up climate protection efforts in the future, climatic change can no longer be reversed. And how severe those climatic changes will be is also crucial to the success of any adaptation efforts.

Our goal: To increase the resilience of our communities and cities to the consequences of climate change, and in doing so, to strengthen them in a sustainable way.
