With 'City Oases' you can now discover the cooler sides of Vienna. "City Oases" was developed by the environmental protection organisation Global 2000 together with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the Austrian Environment Agency. "What you can see at a glance is that it's mainly the spots with greenery that are cool. Places that combine greenery and water are particularly attractive, of course", explained Martin Wildenberg from Global 2000 to Radio Wien. "City Oases" is available for both Android and Apple devices.

The electricityMap is developed and maintained by Tomorrow, a Danish/French start-up. Their goal is to help humanity achieve a sustainable state of existence by quantifying and making accessible the climate impacts of everyday decisions.

The energie-führerschein gives young people aged 12–20 the chance to develop their knowledge on the topic of energy saving. It covers both everyday behaviour as well as behaviour in the workplace. At the end of three half-days, successful participants receive a certificate — the energie-führerschein itself. This idea was awarded the Austrian climate protection prize last year.

This year, an accompanying app has been released, available for free in the Apple and Google Store. With #rettedeineinsel you can test your knowledge and playfully beautify your very own island.

Eevie is an app that helps you achieve sustainable goals on a daily basis. Eevie recognises the key moments where you can make environmentally friendly decisions and supports you with nudges and reminders to help put your sustainable goals into practice. It then quantifies the impact of those decisions on your daily ecological footprint, giving users a better understanding of how their behaviour affects the environment.

The app is offered by the Upper Austrian Environment Department in cooperation with and with the kind support of Klimabündnis OÖ and BIO AUSTRIA.
