28th Annual Conference of the ÖGPH "Unified Health in a Globalised World", 16–18 September

Public health is facing new challenges with the emergence of One Health, Planetary Health, and Global Health — on the one hand in defining its boundaries, and on the other in integrating global trends and influences into existing concepts and policies. Under the title "Unified Health in a Globalised World", the 28th Annual Conference will explore these challenges and discuss the role and responsibility of the Austrian public health community in a globalised world. Public health is often not particularly inclusive in its orientation. The theme of 'Inclusion – Diversity – Equal Opportunities' will therefore be a guiding topic of the ÖGPH 2026. All of these themes and questions were already raised in 1986 in the context of the Ottawa Charter, and so its 40th anniversary of publication also serves as a useful guide for reflecting on the importance of health promotion in a globalised world. The aim of ÖGPH 2026 is to bring in topics from global health, whilst also embedding Austrian public health discussions within a more international framework.

The conference topics in detail:

– Diversity, inclusion, equal opportunities – everyone has the right to a healthy life
– Public Female Health: research gaps in women's health and how we can close them
– Global Health: the role of Austria in a connected world
– Planetary Health and a healthy lifestyle
– Healthy ageing – caring communities
– Public Mental Health for young and old
– Public Dental Health: oral health as a foundation for a healthy life
