COP 31 – UN Climate Conference 2026, 9–20 Nov.


The 31st UN Climate Conference (COP31) will take place from 9 to 20 November 2026 in Antalya, Turkey.

Following a compromise between Turkey and Australia, Turkey will hold the presidency whilst Australia will lead the negotiations. The focus is on implementing global climate targets. 

  • Location: Antalya, Turkey
  • Date: 9 – 20 November 2026
  • Partnership: Turkey is the host country, whilst Australia takes the chair of the negotiations and leads the preparations (Pre-COP).
  • Goal: COP31 is set to serve as a meeting to strengthen ambitions for tackling climate change and to drive forward the implementation of the global response.
  • Background: The decision was made at COP30 to resolve a dispute between the candidate countries. 

The conference is organised by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is an important platform for international climate diplomacy.
