According to GeoSphere Austria, the summers of recent years rank among the warmest in the long-term measurement record. As climate change progresses, both the number of hot days and the intensity and duration of heatwaves will continue to increase. Even today, heat places a significant burden on people's health and wellbeing and represents one of the greatest health risks from climate change in Austria.
Against this backdrop, Gesundheit Österreich GmbH warmly invites you to the Forum Heat & Health 2026, which will take place on 12 May 2026 from 9am–4pm at the Dachsaal of the Wiener Urania (Uraniastraße 1, 1010 Vienna). The forum will provide both well-founded information on the topics of heat, health impacts, and preventive measures, and an opportunity for exchange and networking. The event is aimed at interested individuals as well as experts from research, practice, and public administration. The detailed programme will be sent out in mid-April.
Registration via this link is requested by 17 April 2026.
Do also take the opportunity to actively contribute to the Forum Heat & Health 2026 and present your work, good-practice examples, research findings, etc. in a concise and focused format. Three formats are available this year:
- Short presentation (approx. 10 minutes)
- Poster presentation (approx. 5 minutes)
- Workshop (approx. 45 minutes)
Please submit your contribution — including the preferred format, title, authors, institution, and a short abstract (max. 1,000 characters including spaces) — by 27 March 2026 via e-mail to laura.janz@goeg.at.
