The 2nd Austrian assessment report on climate change synthesises the scientific literature on climate change in Austria and its impacts, and sets out mitigation potential, climate change adaptation options, and transformation pathways. The report was written by more than 200 scientists and commented on by over 100 external reviewers as part of the scientific review process.
In this first of four videos, two lead authors of the report share their insights:
- Chapter 1, Prof. Herbert Formayer (BOKU University, Institute of Meteorology and Climatology): Impacts of climate change on Austria — rising temperatures, precipitation, flooding, drought, natural hazards, species displacement...
- Chapter 2, Dr. Nicolas Roux (BOKU University, Institute of Social Ecology): Land use, ecosystem services and health — food security, forest damage, international supply chains, healthy nutrition, reforestation, carbon storage in timber and ecosystems, conflicting objectives…
