AGIT2021 | 5 – 9 July 2021 | Salzburg, Austria
AGIT is the annual meeting point for innovation, networking and professional development across all areas of geoinformation. Interdisciplinary discussions, forward-looking ideas and a uniquely welcoming atmosphere accompany and shape the 3-day exchange between science and research, business and application.
re.connecting spatially
Geoinformatics is demonstrating right now the specific capabilities of georeferenced technologies and is recognised as a key discipline in the digitalisation of all areas of life and the economy. Getting our society and economy back onto positive development paths and 'functioning well' requires, above all, a close coupling of real and virtual worlds through current positions. Coordinates serve as the key to linking all location-based data and information. Through 'spatial joins', new information is created, and additional knowledge becomes available as a basis for decision-making in society, science and the economy.
Networking at every level
The mix of research, development, industry and application that is characteristic of AGIT is reflected in the close relationship between the Symposium and EXPO. The unique composition and balance, complemented by communication-friendly formats, provides a fertile professional ground for creating synergies and connecting stakeholders.
AGIT takes place alongside the internationally attended, English-language GI_Forum, which is planned as a virtual event in 2021.
Additional information can be found on our >EXPO page.
Conference planning in times of COVID-19
As organisers, we are keeping a close eye on current developments. We are currently planning AGIT as an in-person conference, but will also be prepared to hold the conference in a hybrid format or entirely in a virtual space, should circumstances require it. We are developing an appropriate concept to ensure the smooth running of a COVID-compliant event.
By 16 March we will decide whether to stick with this plan or hold AGIT again as a virtual conference.
GI_Forum will again take place as an online conference in 2021.
