In the latest episode, Ines Oman answers questions about the Climate Council in an interview. If you haven't subscribed to the podcast yet, you can listen to the episodes here too: https://alpengluehen.scientists4future.org
The Citizens' Climate Council was set up as a kind of mini-Austria to develop measures on the path to climate neutrality by 2040. In mid-2022, the Climate Council handed over 93 recommendations to policymakers.
What happens with them now? How is the political sphere responding? What are the participants of the Climate Council doing now? And: were they all convinced climate protection advocates right from the start? No, says Ines Omann. Many have become so in the meantime, though. Ines Omann is a sustainability researcher, facilitator, and process consultant. She accompanied the overall process of the Climate Council as an external expert. In conversation with Sofia Palzer-Khomenko, she offers deep insights into the work of the Climate Council – the work, the development, the highs and the lows. She also gives a brief outlook on how citizens' councils could enrich our democracy in the future.
