Who can participate - Requirements for participation

To successfully apply, you need to be actively enrolled at an Austrian university or university of applied sciences, and therefore have a valid student registration number.

Places are awarded primarily to Master's students, but also to particularly motivated and advanced Bachelor's students.

As a basis for participation, we expect an interest in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), motivation and a high level of commitment, as well as the ability to work in a team and above-average reliability. More details about the requirements and what you can expect from us can be found here.

How does the application process work - Application details

Applications, including a CV and cover letter, are submitted via this website during the semester before the next Sustainability Challenge.

Applications for an October start are accepted from May to July. Any remaining places will be allocated in September.

The selection of Sustainability Challenge participants is made on the basis of the complete application documents submitted by each applicant. The selection process is overseen by the organising team. Selected students will be notified after the application deadline. You can find all the important info in our FAQs.
