From the idea in the shower to a pilot project, from sharing experiences at the coffee bar to the next innovation, from frustration over shortcomings to solutions, from vision to widespread implementation – at the 36th ÖGUT Environmental Award, we're looking for people and organisations who are successfully making their contribution to a climate-compatible, sustainable, and future-ready economy and society. The total prize money of EUR 27,000 will be awarded across six categories.
The ÖGUT Environmental Award gives nominees and prize winners the opportunity to present themselves to a broad public, to network, and to find collaboration partners.

- Women in Environmental Technology (with the support of BMK) - Prize money: EUR 5,000
- Sustainable Municipality (with the support of the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns)
Prize money: EUR 5,000
- Participation and Civil Society Engagement (with the support of BMK) - Prize money: EUR 5,000 in total
- Climate-Neutral City (with the support of BMK) - Prize money: EUR 5,000
- From Research & Innovation to a Circular Economy (Sponsor: BMK) - Prize money: EUR 5,000
- World Without Waste (with the support of Coca Cola) - Prize money: EUR 2,000
Special Prize from the magazines BUSINESSART and LEBENSART
All submissions are also automatically entered into the running for the special prizes LEBENSART and BUSINESSART, endowed with a media package from both renowned sustainability magazines.
Applications are open until 23 February 2023.

The prize money is donated by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns, and Coca-Cola. They enable the projects to gain broad public recognition and serve as role models, and through the financial bonus, they concretely support the implementation of ideas and projects.
The award ceremony will take place as part of the ÖGUT annual reception on 4 May 2023.
