After nearly three years, it's time again: the election for the new term of the Biodiversity Council, 2025–2028, is getting underway.
During the outgoing 2022–2025 term, the Council achieved some impressive results. Here are the most important ones:
- Composition criteria: representation across all federal provinces, disciplinary mix, gender balance, age distribution
- Solution- and project-oriented collaboration with BMK (now BMLUK) and BMFWF
- Various statements and Biodiversity Policy Barometer in a 5-year comparison
- 2022: Founding of the Allianz BiodiWa (Biodiversity & Water) — networking, priority-setting, project development, outputs
- 2024: Founding of Biodiversity Austria International — Austria's interface with the global biodiversity council (IPBES)
- Biodiversity Days 2022, 2023 and 2025
We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the current members of the entire Biodiversity Council and the members of the leadership team for their dedication!
