The ZAMG coordinates and manages the computing resources that are available annually to Austria as a member state of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts – ECMWF. In this context, the ECMWF offers the use of IT infrastructure, including its HPC systems. This allocation is independent of the resources for any "special projects" that can be applied for additionally by Austrian research institutions.

In 2020, the available allocation of HPC resources for Austria amounts to 192 million SBUs (system billing units). The aim of this call is to use these computing resources for the remainder of 2020 for research developments and operational services at the ZAMG, but also to give Austrian research institutions within the CCCA network the opportunity to make use of them.
