From 14–16 February 2024, the now 18th Symposium on Energy Innovation will take place at TU Graz. The symposium is organised by the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) at TU Graz, together with co-organisers the Austrian Electrotechnical Association (OVE), Oesterreichs Energie (the interest group representing Austria's electricity industry), and the Austrian National Committee of the World Energy Council. The theme of this year's event is:
"EUROPE'S ENERGY FUTURE – Secure, affordable, clean!?"
Europe faces major challenges in a rapidly changing energy landscape. Particularly since the outbreak of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and the sharp rise in energy prices that has followed, the questions of security of supply and affordability for society and the economy have moved firmly to the forefront. On top of this, ecological issues at both the global level (e.g. greenhouse gas emissions) and the local level (e.g. the construction of energy infrastructure) still need to be addressed. The innovations and measures required for a secure, affordable, and clean energy future for Europe will be discussed in depth at the symposium under the following topic areas:
- Models, scenarios, and innovations for a future-proof energy system
- The future of renewable energy
- Energy and electricity markets
- Requirements for transmission and distribution infrastructure (electricity, gas, heat)
- Sector coupling, flexibilisation, hydrogen, and energy storage
- Energy efficiency, digitalisation, and smart energy systems
- Future questions on energy and mobility
We warmly invite you to submit an abstract by 1 December 2023. The registration fee for this three-day symposium is just 320 EUROS for presenters. For further information, please refer to the "Call for Papers" at: https://go.tugraz.at/EI24_CfP
