Call for Papers, 19th Symposium on Energy Innovation, ENERGIZING EUROPE, 11–13 February 2026, TU Graz

The 19th Symposium on Energy Innovation will take place at TU Graz from 11–13 February 2026. The symposium is organised by the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) at TU Graz, together with co-organisers the Austrian Electrotechnical Association (OVE), Oesterreichs Energie (the interest group representing Austria's electricity industry), and the Austrian National Committee of the World Energy Council

The theme of this year's event is: "ENERGIZING EUROPE – Innovations for a Future-Proof Energy Economy". Europe faces major challenges in a rapidly changing energy landscape. In particular, since the outbreak of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia and the sharply rising energy prices that have followed, questions of security of supply and affordability for society and the economy have moved firmly to the fore.

The innovations and measures needed to secure a safe, affordable, and clean energy future for Europe will be discussed in depth at the symposium across the following topic areas:

  1. Models, scenarios, and innovations for a future-proof energy system
  2. The future of renewable energy
  3. Energy and electricity markets
  4. Requirements for transmission and distribution infrastructure (electricity, gas, heat)
  5. Sector coupling, flexibility, hydrogen, and energy storage
  6. Energy efficiency, digitalisation, and smart energy systems
  7. Future questions on energy and mobility

We warmly invite you to submit an abstract by 30 November 2025. The registration fee for this three-day symposium is just 350 EUROS for presenters.
