CALL: Real Fiction Climate Court of Audit: Climate protection between scientific evidence and democratic oversight

What if… Austria could develop sustainable environmental and climate protection measures and measure, monitor and readjust their effectiveness?

The knowledge-anthropological research project Real Fiction Climate Court of Audit (at the University of Vienna) takes up the demand of the Austrian Climate People's Initiative for the establishment of a democratically legitimised climate protection oversight body in Austria, and is launching the research-led campaign "Climate Court of Audit Now! Climate Protection Needs Oversight" at the start of 2023.

In cooperation with the Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art Vienna, the project is working together with a wide range of climate experts to examine the opportunities and challenges of establishing a national Climate Court of Audit, and is contributing to making it more concrete, testing it, and staging it publicly.

For the planned collaborative experimental workshops (CEWs) and staged performances (Acts), the project team is still looking for additional climate experts from a wide variety of disciplines, institutions and areas of society who would like to support individual events or the entire campaign with their expertise. Among other things, videos with experts on their respective fields will be recorded. We look forward to hearing from anyone who's interested!
