Invitation to apply for the Stefan M. Gergely Prize and the Stefan M. Gergely Dissertation Fellowships for Biodiversity

The Stefan M. Gergely Prize, worth 36,000 euros, recognises outstanding doctoral dissertations that address questions relating to biodiversity.

Highly qualified early-career researchers at an Austrian university who completed their doctoral/PhD studies no more than two years before the submission deadline are invited to apply.

The Stefan M. Gergely Dissertation Fellowships, worth 36,000 euros, are intended to support doctoral candidates whose aim is to produce fundamental scientific contributions to the understanding of biodiversity and natural ecosystems at all levels.

In particular, fellows should be given the opportunity to develop a competitive application for third-party funding in order to secure financing for their doctoral studies.
