The Austrian climate community is growing.
Numerous new initiatives are forming, protest actions are stirring debate, and the topic is increasingly dominating media coverage as well. Climate research isn't resting either: alongside the launch of work on the 2nd APCC assessment report on climate change, a background paper on remaining Austrian greenhouse gas budgets — developed collaboratively within the community — was published, followed just a few days later by the APCC Special Report on Structures for Climate-Friendly Living.
Through the new Klimaszenarien.AT initiative, new climate scenarios for Austria are to be developed under the umbrella of CCCA and led by ZAMG (GSA: as of 01.01.2023, ZAMG is now called »GeoSphere Austria«) and the CCCA Service Centre. In addition, a new knowledge transfer format called Wissenssnacks (Knowledge Snacks) has been created. These offer a brief insight into various climate-relevant topics in a compact postcard format.
