The CCCA Data Centre was one of the first institutions to implement the RDA recommendations on Dynamic Data Citation in 2017 and offer them operationally.
The purpose of our Dynamic Data Citation service is, on the one hand, to address the dynamic nature of data with regard to versioning — through, for example, corrections — the linking with persistent identifiers (such as hdl, doi), the automated generation of data citation texts, and the adaptation of metadata. On the other hand, data can be extracted by region and time (subset) without losing their reference to the original. If something changes in the original, a subset may also be affected, and the dynamic relationships that need to be precisely identified can be provided through this service.
