CCCA in the GEO Highlights 2018 "Impact Focused, Result Driven"

The GEO Highlights Report for 2018 showcases some exemplary efforts by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) undertaken over the past year to sustainably provide knowledge and tools for Earth observations.  <link http: www.earthobservations.org documents publications>www.earthobservations.org/documents/publications/2018_geo_highlights_report.pdf

CCCA is listed in the chapter "FROM DATA TO KNOWLEDGE, ADVANCING GEOSS" as a new data provider for the GEOSS platform, GEO's technical system. This demonstrates, on the one hand, that the CCCA Data Centre operates in accordance with the GEO Data Sharing & Management Principles and has implemented these in a technically sound manner.

On the other hand, it reflects the hub functionality of the CCCA Data Centre. Data fed into the Data Centre are thus visible on the global GEOSS Portal (<link http: www.geoportal.org>www.geoportal.org). In this way, the Wegener Center with over 700 datasets, GeoSphere Austria with around 200, as well as BOKU, alpS, the University of Salzburg, and others are listed in the GEOSS catalogue.

Technically, data — in particular the metadata contained in the CCCA Data Centre — are automatically retrieved via a process known as harvesting every 30 days and updated or supplemented in their catalogue.

The head of the CCCA Data Centre also serves, via GeoSphere Austria, as the Austrian GEO coordinator. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
