CCCA Knowledge Snack No. 19 "Circular Economy" published!

The circular economy is a genuine driver of climate protection: rather than discarding products after a short time, the focus is on reuse, repair and recycling. This keeps valuable resources in circulation for longer — and saves a great deal of energy and greenhouse gas emissions. After all, the production of new products often generates large quantities of greenhouse gases, especially when raw materials need to be newly extracted. By making clever use of materials and avoiding waste, we're also doing something good for the environment and the climate.

The circular economy shows that sustainability can be innovative, economically viable and forward-looking. There are already many exciting approaches out there — from recyclable clothing to refillable or compostable packaging and entirely new business models.
