Citizen Science Award 2020

The deadline for submitting Citizen Science projects to the Citizen Science Award 2020 has been extended to 30 November 2019. Given the current climate change debates and the "Fridays for Future" movement, submissions in the field of climate change are particularly welcome.

The aim of the Citizen Science Award is to motivate school classes and individuals to take part in Citizen Science projects and win prizes between April and early July 2020. The prize money, including a small financial contribution for the project (min. 750 euros), will be provided by us. In addition to generating new research contributions through additional Citizen Scientists, you can benefit from the following activities, for example:

  • Extensive promotion of the Award and the participating projects by the Centre for Citizen Science, thereby reaching a wider audience (teachers, pupils, and individuals) across Austria
  • Building know-how through workshops as well as networking and sharing experiences with other Citizen Science projects
  • The opportunity to make personal contact with Citizen Scientists, e.g. at the Vienna Research Festival or at the Citizen Science Award Day
  • Organisation of a celebratory awards ceremony by the Centre for Citizen Science, which provides a wonderful platform for your project

Project registration is possible via a short online form. Further details can be found on the website of the Centre for Citizen Science at OeAD.
