Climate adaptation "window of opportunity is closing" — IPCC report at the end of February focuses on adaptation options


What can be done about rising sea levels, flooding or droughts? The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), due out at the end of February, takes a look at the options for adaptation. The window for climate policy is closing, says IPCC expert Hans-Otto Pörtner.

The second part of the IPCC's 6th assessment report will certainly spark more political debate, says Hans-Otto Pörtner, Co-Chair of Working Group II. 270 authors from around the world have reviewed more than 34,000 climate science publications for the report. On Monday, the final step begins: adoption at the IPCC plenary of member states.
