Climate-neutral universities — an initiative of the Alliance of Sustainable Universities in Austria


More and more members of the Alliance of Sustainable Universities in Austria are adopting roadmaps designed to ensure they achieve climate neutrality between 2030 (at the earliest) and 2040 (at the latest). In their ambition to lead by example, they are embarking on a very ambitious, steep decarbonisation pathway.

In the current issue of GAiA Magazine, a transdisciplinary journal on ecological perspectives for science and society, researchers from TU Graz, the University of Graz, BOKU, and the University of Innsbruck write about the important role of universities and higher education institutions in the decarbonisation of Austria.
