COP26 in Glasgow managed to just about keep the goal of not exceeding the 1.5°C limit alive, though — to use the words of the COP President — the pulse was already very faint. These days, at COP27 in Egypt, it's being decided whether this important global endeavour has survived another year. Regardless of whether the 1.5°C target is still achievable or not, every tenth of a degree more or less has a major influence on our future. The more we can limit the temperature rise, the better.
In the media briefing by Scientists for Future and "Diskurs, das Wissenschaftsnetz", renowned experts from climate research discuss the outcomes of COP27. They highlight which course corrections were made and which levers were left untouched.
