Following Der Standard and Kurier, Die Presse has now also joined the club of "climate podcasts" from Austrian daily newspapers. On 1 December, the first episode of "Der letzte Aufguss" launched. Every 14 days, the core team — made up of Mathias Auer, Teresa Wirth, Christine Mayrhofer, Anja Drechsler and Michael Lohmeyer — dedicates itself to the climate debate, as you'd expect.
"We've had a cross-departmental climate team in-house for a while now. With the podcast, we want to make the topic even more prominent", says Christine Mayrhofer. The format is designed as a "relaxed" conversation between three rotating hosts. Recurring elements include the "Mitbringsl" and the "Mutmacher". "It was particularly important to us to also highlight solutions. We don't want to spread panic or be alarmist — instead, we want to engage constructively with the issues", Mayrhofer emphasises.
