Fridays for Future & Scientists for Future networking meeting
On 09.09.2019, Fridays for Future Vienna is inviting all Scientists for Future to a networking meeting.
We're looking forward to sharing ideas and having some great discussions. The younger activists in particular are keen to get to know scientists and their ways of working up close. This way, we can best move the climate movement in Austria forward and continue to advocate together for ambitious, science-based climate policy.
The meeting will take place at BOKU, Vienna. Fridays for Future would like to share updates on the next steps and would also welcome feedback.
Date: 09.09.2019
Time: 14:00–16:00
Venue: Wilhelm Exner Haus, Peter-Jordan-Straße 82, top floor, Room 20 (EXN-DG/20)
Scientists for Future registration please to info@ccca.ac.at
Week for Future
At the same time, FFF would like to take the opportunity to flag up the Week for Future, 20.9–27.9, if that's alright. Week for Future 20.9–27.9 — themed days and days of action. During the Week for Future, numerous NGOs will be organising various actions and events, which will be compiled at www.klimaprotest.at.
On 20.9, decentralised actions will take place in hundreds of locations across Austria — we want to mobilise all 2,096 municipalities under the motto "Austria for Future — Your Place for the Future" in support of ambitious climate protection and environmental protection. To take part, as many people as possible should go to their local village sign, hold up a sign reading "Für die Zukunft" ("For the Future"), and send us the photo. This action can be incorporated into a rally, demonstration, information event, etc. We will then publish the collected photos. Young or old, urban or rural — on 20.9, as many people as possible should stand up for bold climate policy, because just five days later, a vote will be held on the motion to declare a national Climate Emergency. This motion is currently with the Federal Environment Agency and contains eight concrete points that would represent a turning point in climate policy.
