2025 is a special year for the Environment Agency Austria: the organisation is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Since 1985, the Environment Agency Austria has been providing well-founded data, analyses, and recommendations for action on environmental issues in Austria and Europe. In its current environmental statement, the organisation documents not only its operational environmental performance, but also how sustainable business practices are implemented in everyday life.

Environmental performance improved, new paths forged
In 2024, overall energy consumption at the Environment Agency Austria was reduced further. Over the past ten years, the reduction amounts to as much as 30%. When it comes to paper consumption, digitalisation and ongoing awareness-raising among staff are having an effect: in 2024, only 3.2 kg of paper was consumed per person. That's 79% less than ten years ago. A regular overview in the company intranet provides transparent information on consumption and raises staff awareness.
