Global Climate Strike 25.3.2022! The next Global Climate Strike is coming up!

On Friday, 25 March 2022, Fridays For Future is once again calling for worldwide protests. In Austria, actions will be taking place in Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, St. Pölten and many other cities. This time, the Global Climate Strike is centred around the motto "People not Profit".

Together with you climate heroes, we're demanding what was promised in Paris in 2015 and at the UN Climate Conference in Glasgow in 2021: keeping to the 1.5-degree target. The window for saving the climate is closing. As a result, according to the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), up to 3.6 billion people are already considered "highly vulnerable". Because only through comprehensive climate protection is a liveable future possible for all of us! On Friday, 25 March, we're taking our demand for greater climate justice to the streets, and thousands will be calling for it loudly alongside us. Trade unions, NGOs, religious representatives and others are also supporting the call for greater climate protection and social justice.

We've had a successful few months behind us: we've stopped the construction of the Lobau Tunnel, and for over five months, climate activists from Fridays For Future and other organisations have been occupying the construction sites of the urban motorway (also misleadingly known as the Stadtstraße). In April 2021, with your support, we were able to submit the landmark European Climate Lawsuit to the European Court of Human Rights, and CO2 will be taxed uniformly in Austria for the first time. Nevertheless, there's still a lot to do when it comes to climate protection!
