IPCC calls for nominations of authors for the Special Report on Climate Change and Cities

The IPCC is inviting experts to contribute to the preparation of the Special Report "Climate Change and Cities" as Coordinating Lead Authors (CLAs), Lead Authors (LAs), or Review Editors (REs). Further information can be found at: https://www.ipcc.ch/2024/08/08/authorcallsrcities/

Involvement as a CLA, LA, or RE requires a considerable amount of work. In particular, CLAs are expected not only to draft and revise the relevant sections of the report, but also to attend four Lead Author meetings. In addition, you may be invited to participate in further sessions.

Participation is generally on a voluntary basis. In justified cases, travel costs to meetings may be reimbursed by the BMK (hotel costs and economy class flights).

Nominations are handled by the Austrian IPCC Focal Point (Manfred.Ogris@bmk.gv.at). If you're interested, please get in touch as soon as possible, but no later than 9 September 2024, to receive the application documents. If you have any questions about the IPCC, its processes, or the nomination procedure, you're also welcome to contact this address at any time.

The IPCC is also inviting experts to contribute to the preparation of the "Methodology Report on Inventories for Short-lived Climate Forcers" as Coordinating Lead Authors (CLAs), Lead Authors (LAs), or Review Editors (REs).
