Launch of the video series "What Future Do We Want?"

In the video series "What Future Do We Want?", researchers from across Austria share their ideas and impulses for greater sustainability in our society.

The COVID-19 crisis has posed enormous challenges for many people and has demanded our full attention over recent months. However, we mustn't forget that even before COVID-19, we were already facing — and continue to face — a host of problems, crises, and global challenges such as climate change, species extinction, and environmental pollution.

The Climate Change Centre Austria (CCCA) has therefore launched a future-oriented project, on the initiative of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, together and in close collaboration with the Alliance of Sustainable Universities, Scientists for Future, and the UniNEtZ project.

In the video series "What Future Do We Want?", researchers from a range of disciplines and research institutions across Austria are asked where they see the greatest levers and opportunities for steering society towards sustainability. These impulses and ideas are now being made available in the form of 2-minute short videos.

The aims of the project are…

…. to broaden the public discourse on COVID-19 to include the topics of climate protection, sustainability, and transformation, and to stimulate it with engaging new visions for the future.

…. to make the diverse, societally relevant expertise of researchers in Austria more visible.

…. to highlight alternatives & concrete proposed solutions for shaping our society in the future.

…. to provide orientation and confidence in times of great uncertainty and disorientation.

We're delighted to present the first five expert videos on our website at www.ccca.ac.at/welche_zukunft_wollen_wir, embedded via the BOKU YouTube channel.

It's well worth checking back regularly, as new videos are uploaded every week!
