Having launched back in 2007, the energy and mobility research programmes of the Climate and Energy Fund are the central funding instruments for innovation in Austrian energy and climate policy. In its programme strategy, the Fund focuses on working with models, flagship projects, and the development of highly innovative technologies "Made in Austria". The energy and mobility transition represents a major opportunity for Austria: in addition to achieving Austria's climate target of being climate-neutral by 2040, this includes highly qualified, sustainable green jobs, the stimulation of regional value creation, and improved security of supply.
