The project is called "New Energy for Industry" (NEFI): it's a regional innovation network comprising academia, technology providers and businesses, led by the Montanuniversität.

The aim of this network is to demonstrate, over the next eight years, that it is both feasible and economically as well as ecologically sensible to supply industrial energy systems at selected sites with up to 100 per cent renewable energy, thereby drastically reducing CO2 emissions.
