"Nature-Based Urban Water Management" – New CCCA Fact Sheet published


Hot days in Austria have been steadily increasing since the 1980s. Settlements are particularly affected by heat. High building densities with heat-absorbing surfaces and a high degree of surface sealing lead to so-called urban heat islands. Heat stress will intensify further in the future due to global warming, continued surface sealing, and the loss of active soil and its water retention capacity...

Under the title "Nature-Based Urban Water Management", a further CCCA Fact Sheet has been published in the series "Climate Change – Mitigation and Adaptation".

The authors are: Daniela Fuchs-Hanusch (TU Graz), Martin Regelsberger (Technisches Büro für Kulturtechnik), Katharina Schwarzfurtner and Lisa Waldschütz (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna).
