Nature Restoration Law now! More quality of life for everyone! Demo: 23 May from 08:30 at the Monument of the Republic

On 23 May, a special session of the Vienna Provincial Parliament is taking place at Vienna City Hall regarding the blockade of the EU Nature Restoration Law. Mayor Ludwig and his city government could — just like any other provincial government — break this blockade on their own. That's why we want to come together on 23 May from 08:30 to call on the Mayor to take responsibility and act in the interests of the citizens of this city, this country, and all of Europe.

Meeting point: Monument of the Republic at Schmerlingplatz

Concrete deserts in our cities and villages, agricultural wastelands in our fields, spruce plantations in our forests — in Austria and across Europe, primary ecosystems have been massively pushed back. Today, only a few niches remain between the human-made biodiversity deserts, where most animal and plant species find no habitat. The few remaining ecosystems are now facing even greater danger due to advancing climate heating. Fewer intact, near-natural ecosystems also mean less quality of life and more risks for all of us. Our soils, which form the basis of our food supply, are also suffering under the pressures of intensive agriculture. At the same time, more and more valuable soils are falling victim to sealing by concrete and asphalt.
