The funding programme "KLAR! - Climate Change Adaptation Model Regions" supports municipalities and regions in planning and implementing climate change adaptation measures. A comprehensive bottom-up approach is being pursued, aimed at supporting regions in making the most of opportunities arising from climate change and adapting as early and comprehensively as possible to future climatic changes, so as to avert negative developments.
The recently launched call for applications is aimed at new regions as well as those that have already embarked on the path of adaptation and wish to continue along it. The programme is structured into the following phases:
- Concept and implementation phase for regions submitting for the first time
- Continuation phase following completion of the concept and implementation phase or a previous continuation phase
Furthermore, as part of KLAR!-Invest, investment measures will again be funded in this year's call for applications. For projects in the areas of heat protection and water management, up to €40,000 per region is available.
The general submission deadline for new and returning applicants as well as for KLAR!-Invest Stage 2 is 31/01/2023 at 12:00. Returning applicants whose applications were rejected last year may submit their applications until 29/07/2022, 12:00. Applications for the first stage of KLAR!-Invest can be submitted until 16/09/2022 at 12:00.
