New Climate Alliance calls on state governors and the federal government for a "fresh start for a crisis-resilient Austria"
Alliance of environmental organisations and figures from arts and culture, science and politics calls for affordable, climate-friendly and nature-compatible energy for Austria
Vienna (OTS) - Together, Rudi Anschober, the environmental organisations GLOBAL 2000 and WWF, and the Klimavolksbegehren are presenting a new Climate Alliance at a press conference today. They are supported by Helga Kromp-Kolb, Hilde Dalik and other prominent figures, and are calling for a "fresh start for a crisis-resilient Austria". For decades, domestic politics has missed the boat on a comprehensive energy transition – and now people in Austria are facing the devastating consequences of the energy and climate crisis. "We can make Austria crisis-resilient, bring prices down and make a major contribution to climate protection through socially just, nature-compatible energy policy. This calls for a collective effort. We therefore urge the federal government and all state governors to act NOW, to end political blockades and to implement the energy transition in a nature-compatible way", the initiators demand.
The online petition is now available at www.neustart-klima.at.
