Within CCCA, there are strategic and thematic working groups to discuss and address specific projects, activities or topics of strategic importance to CCCA in a broader format. CCCA supports member organisations in setting up working groups, accompanies their activities and ensures that the results are communicated to the network.
At the end of May, the CCCA board endorsed the establishment of a Climate Neutrality Working Group.
The aim of this working group is to create a scientific basis for climate and CO2 neutrality for businesses and organisations in Austria.
This will be achieved through:
A) a critical review of the current use of climate-appropriate terminology (for example, Net Zero or Carbon Neutral), followed by the derivation of clear recommendations for action for companies and institutions; and
B) an assessment of whether there is a need for a standard/label for climate and CO2 neutrality for businesses and organisations in Austria. Where appropriate, the groundwork will be laid for the introduction of a uniform "climate neutrality label". This label is to be developed with reference to internationally recognised standards and labels.
