The next major Fridays For Future demonstration is already taking place on 31/05/2019. This time, under the motto <link https: www.fridaysforfuture.at events fridays-for-future-austria>"No Future On A Dead Planet", the focus is primarily on the mass extinction of animal and plant species and the increasing loss of biodiversity. Greta Thunberg will join the march and give a speech during the demo. Alongside Scientists for Future, the Artists4Future and the University of Vienna, among others, will also be taking part in the march.
Scientists have organised themselves and established a meeting point for Scientists for Future.
Time/Meeting point: 11:30 at the steps of the Natural History Museum Vienna
Route: Joint march with the Artists (KHM) to the Heldenplatz (11:55), where pupils, teachers, parents, ... will gather. Then along the Ring to Schwarzenbergplatz (closing rally).
The Programme
Scientists For Future will gather at 11:30 in front of the Natural History Museum and then march together through the Heldentor to the Heldenplatz at 11:55. The ArtistsForFuture will meet at the opposite Kunsthistorisches Museum.
The programme at the Heldenplatz will begin at 11:55, where the Scientists and Artists will be welcomed as they arrive.
This will be followed by speeches from pupils as well as from one representative each from the Scientists and Artists. At around 12:30, a large demonstration march will set off from the Heldenplatz along the Ring to Schwarzenbergplatz. A closing rally will take place there, with speeches from representatives of the regional groups and Greta Thunberg.
