Ö1 Science Arena "Styrian Research for Climate Change"


The Styrian state capital Graz has long established itself as a hot spot for climate research in Austria. At the climate culture festival "Markt der Zukunft" 2025, institutions such as Joanneum Research, TU Graz, Karl Franzens University, the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, and the Medical University of Graz are presenting themselves at the Volkskundemuseum Graz.

Martin Haidinger spoke before an interested audience with representatives of Styrian research institutions about current research projects:

- Franz Prettenthaler from the Life Institute at Joanneum Research
- Stefan Spirk from the Institute for Bioproducts and Paper Technology at TU Graz, 
- Martin Hönigl, infectious disease specialist from the Medical University of Graz, and 
- Nina Knittel, economist from the Wegener Center at Karl Franzens University

The music was provided by the KUG Earth Band of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
