Many recommendations for climate policy focus on two main areas: first, the fastest possible expansion of renewable energy use, and second, complementing this, a pricing of greenhouse gas emissions. Against the backdrop of current discussions on energy and climate policy and in support of the case for pricing greenhouse gas emissions, WIFO (the Austrian Institute of Economic Research) has now produced a Policy Brief on the topic of "Questions and Facts on the Pricing of Greenhouse Gas Emissions" together with the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change at the University of Graz.
Policy Brief: Questions and Facts on the Pricing of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Many recommendations for climate policy focus on two main areas: first is a rapid increase in the use of renewables, second, in addition to this, a pricing of greenhouse gas emissions. In this Policy Brief a supporting argumentation for the pricing of greenhouse gas emissions as instrument for climate policy is presented.
