Working Group II Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability 28 April 2022, 3:00–5:30 pm, online
Working Group II examines climate risks and adaptation. It focuses, amongst other things, on answering the following questions:
- What impacts are we already seeing from climate change, and what can we expect in the future?
- How is nature already responding to warming, and what can we further expect?
- What can our children and grandchildren expect if action is not taken immediately?
- What adaptation options are available, and what are the limits of adaptation?
- What is meant by climate-resilient development, and how can we achieve it?
Opening: Georg Kaser, ÖAW (Moderator)
Welcome remarks: Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler, BMK Harald Rieder, CCCA
Presenting IPCC authors:

Working Group III Mitigation of Climate Change 29 April 2022, 10:00 am–12:30 pm, online
Working Group III focuses on the complex of questions around greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation options:
- How have greenhouse gas emissions developed so far? Are there signs of a global decline? What does this look like across the various sectors (transport, industry, etc.)?
- What can be expected from the emission reductions committed to so far at the global level?
- What does systemic transformation mean in this context? What changes are possible or necessary in terms of distributional justice, employment, markets, and financial flows?
Opening: Angelika Wolf, CCCA (Moderator)
Welcome remarks: N. N., BMK Keywan Riahi, IIASA
Presenting IPCC authors:
- Keywan Riahi, IIASA: "The framework of the 3rd Working Group report – alternative climate scenarios"
