Press release from the CCCA Working Group on EU Taxonomy on the implementation of the Taxonomy Regulation

Call for quality assurance based on scientific findings for the implementation of the Taxonomy Regulation – CCCA Working Group publishes answers to frequently asked questions in the area of climate change adaptation

Within the framework of the Austrian climate research network "Climate Change Centre Austria" (CCCA), the Working Group 'EU Taxonomy' is addressing the environmental objective "adaptation to climate change" within the EU Taxonomy Regulation.

The topic attracted very considerable interest, and in addition to the core team (comprising Weatherpark, GeoSphere Austria (formerly ZAMG), AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and WWF Austria) also includes further representatives from: TU Wien, TU Graz, Georesearch Forschungsgesellschaft mbH, Energieinstitut Linz, BOKU Wien, Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, and the Austrian Hail Insurance.

"The Working Group aims to identify the concrete need for action in Austria – such as the establishment of concrete framework conditions for implementation, data foundations and a uniform methodology, etc. – in order to be able to carry out a standardised, objective and quality-assured climate risk and vulnerability analysis, and thereby ensure the clearest possible and legally compliant implementation of the Taxonomy Regulation," said the co-chair of the Working Group, Simon Tschannett from Weatherpark.
