Scenarios for the climate of the future - field experiments in the alpine region

Extreme weather conditions such as drought and aridity will increase in the future due to climate change. Ecologist Michael Bahn has been conducting field experiments in the alpine region for many years to measure how soils and plants respond to these changing conditions. By simulating scenarios that could occur in the near future, Bahn helps us understand how ecosystems are responding to climate change. The researcher and his colleagues are particularly interested in how CO2 concentrations and nature's capacity to store carbon will change.
