Alongside managing the coronavirus crisis, a looming climate catastrophe must also be averted, according to the position paper published on Wednesday.
With four demands, the paper refers to the Austrian federal government's planned economic stimulus package, as the government faces a historic opportunity to invest public rescue funds "intelligently and in a climate-just manner", according to the website of the environmental movement Fridays for Future.
"Securing the Future"
With the first of four approaches, entitled "Securing People's Future", supporters are calling for the primary preservation and creation of jobs when allocating relief funds, "rather than aimlessly putting money into individual industries".
