Scientists for Future: Video appeal to policymakers

We only have this one world. To preserve it, we need to act. Together. Boldly. Now.

Since the publication of their statement in March of this year, scientists across all three countries have been supporting the pupils' movement with background knowledge and scientific facts. "We are repeatedly impressed by how seriously the next generation engages with this complex subject matter and works through their positions," emphasises Dr. Gregor Hagedorn, initiator and one of the coordinators of Scientists for Future.

The video is based on video material submitted by 133 scientists (including Karl Steininger, Helga Kromp-Kolb, Harald Welzer, Martina Schäfer and Eckart von Hirschhausen) and makes direct reference to the statement signed by more than 26,000 scientists in March 2019.

The short film "Scientists for Future: Appeal to Policymakers" was produced by Judith Hardt, Bernhard Steinberger, Sebastian Rau and Patrick Bürger. It will be shared via social media from 17.9. onwards. The film will also be shown in larger cinemas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 20.9., including in Munich, Innsbruck and Lucerne. In Berlin it will be shown in the York Group's cinemas.
