"The Austrian federal government is currently unable to meet international obligations and its own climate protection targets. That's why a group of scientists from various disciplines is expressing solidarity with both the demands and the peaceful and non-violent protest of the climate activists "Letzte Generation":
- Yes to a 100 km/h speed limit on motorways, no to fracking in Austria
- Civil resistance is the unmissable fire alarm for a sleepwalking society in a burning world. As scientists, we confirm: this is not a drill and not a false alarm. This is serious.
We appeal to representatives of other professional groups to follow our lead and demand that the federal government take its own climate targets seriously. We are all the last generation that can still defuse the climate crisis and ensure a good life in the future.
