StartClim is a research programme designed to help kick off new research approaches. It supports innovative projects that address current questions relating to climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals. Within StartClim, these projects should be developed to a point where follow-up applications can be submitted to other research funding programmes.
This call for proposals focuses on the following thematic areas:
- Analysis of the flooding and heavy rainfall events of September 2024: lessons learned — improving preparedness and management of such disasters
- Increasing the acceptance of climate-relevant measures
- Success factors for governance structures that enable and accelerate cross-sectoral and cross-jurisdictional transformation
For project ideas that don't fit the specified topics, there is again this year the option to submit an application on a freely chosen subject with relevance to the Austrian Adaptation Strategy.
The deadline for submitting your applications is 14 July 2025 at 12:00 noon.
